Forgiveness

Has someone ever hurt you to the point where you couldn't forgive? Maybe this person lost your trust. Or you found out this person was not truly who you thought he or she was. No matter the reason, at least once in our life we go through something and we find it hard to forgive. You say it is impossible to forgive this person, because it hurt you so much what they did. Or, you can't forgive this person because they broke the respect or trust you had with them.

As terrible as it was that this person did to you, you need to find the strength in yourself to forgive. Why? Because when we hold something negative against someone, that person takes power over us. And what ends up happening, is that we carry that baggage over our shoulders and ends up affecting us later in life. For example, I have heard of cases where young women are abused sexually, and they grow up and never want to be in a relationship. They put a lock on their heart and hate the idea of ever being with a man. What happened to this young lady was not her fault, but what happened to her later in life, is her fault.

Because she was not able to forgive, she ended up ruining her life by not allowing a man come into her life. This is just one example, but there are several. So, if you find it hard to forgive someone say remind yourself that your doing it for you. So you can be free from the bad memory. Also, when you forgive this person, ask for forgiveness as well. Even though they were the one at fault, humble yourself and ask for forgiveness. If you do this, you will be free. Remember, everyday we make mistakes and God always forgives us. But how can He forgive us, if we don't forgive first?

Anger

Every now and then you find yourself in one of those moods where you are extremely frustrated, cranky, moody, or just plain angry. There are two type of people in the world: people who get angry and angry people. So, what's the difference? Some people believe it is a sin to get angry, but it isn't. If you look back in your bible, you'll see that even Jesus at times got angry. When God created us, He created this emotion inside of us. However, many times we use it the wrong way. Instead of using this anger against our problems and struggles to overcome them, we tend to use it against people or even ourselves. This is something we need to be very careful with, because when we are angry, we are like an ignited firework, ready to explode on anyone that comes in our path. However, if we are not vigilant, we end up saying things we regret or, do something we can't take back. Our harsh words at a moment of rage, could scar a person for life. Have you thought about this? Many times as I was growing up, my mother would say very harsh words when she was upset. Without realizing it, I grew up with those words, which scarred me and my self esteem. Another thing we need to be careful with, is to not hold this anger and save it in our hearts. When we get upset about something and we don't let it go or forgive, we unknowingly save it in our heart. And when we least expect it, it begins to pile up like a big stack of papers. What happens when the stack gets too tall? One more piece of paper causes the stack to fall all over the place. This is what happens to many people today. They stack all these old memories, bad days, and don't forgive and what eventually happens is that on a random occasion something small will happen which will cause them to explode. The person ends up exploding over something, not because that issue is a big deal, but because they piled that anger for so long.I have even met people who say they feel angry all the time, and they don't understand why. They feel like a slave to anger and it's destroying their life. If you are ready to be free, then open your heart to God, and unload the stack in His hands. If you have to get in touch with people from your past that you have not forgiven, then do it, you have nothing to lose. Meditate on this verse:

"In your anger do not sin. Do not let the sun go down while
you are still angry and do not give the devil a foothold"

                                                               Ephesians 4:26-27

Bottom of the Pit

Does this man relate to you? Why is it that we wait until we are at the bottom of pit, to realize that Jesus the only Way to salvation and a new life? We can be very stubborn. Even so, Jesus is always right there when we are ready to come to Him. He will always be there even though people leave Him for the last option.

Why did God make me this way?

Have you ever asked yourself this questions "Why did God make me this way?" The word of God says that while we were in our mother's womb, God hand formed us into a masterpiece. However, a lot of time we don't see that masterpiece. A lot of times, we feel that were not good enough. Were not tall enough. Or attractive enough. Sometimes we hate who we are. We wish we could have looked like this or like that. Or we wish we could talk a certain way, instead of being so shy and scared to speak. I know I used to be this way. I would ask God, "why did you make so shy?" Before, it was very very hard for me to talk to new people and when I was pushed to speak, I would speak very silently with my head turned down. I even complained to God about my appearance. When I was looking at this verse today, I realized that everything we are, everything that makes us, us for a purpose. Even the things we consider insignificant, have a wonderful purpose in God's eyes. Think about it. Since the beginning of time, God used the sand of the earth and His breath for us to have life. During the time of Moses, when the Israelites were trapped by the sea and the coming Egyptians, Moses used his wooden staff to open the sea to save the people. Gideon and his army of 300 defeated an army of a 100,000 with empty pots and torches. With trumpets and loud outcries, Joshua watched the walls of Jericho tumble down.  Let's not forget David. He was just a boy and he able to take down the giant using only stones. My question for you is, if God used such small and insignificant things to save lives, perform miracles, and change the course of time, then why can't God do the same with you?
