Just Let it Go!

Has God been asking you for something lately? Has he been telling you to let something go, yet you deny it is Him and even say it's just in your head? The more closer I have walked towards Him the more things I have had to surrender because it is impossible to both God and my own flesh. One of the things that was very hard for me to surrender was my ex-boyfriend of 5 years.

Since the beginning of the relationship God was always showing me that he was not God's will. Many times when I was with my ex, God would tell me, to let Him go. But I resisted, I refused to accept that God did not want Him for me. I would even say it was in my head. However, with time, that voice would speak louder and louder to my mind. I even tried to go around it, and said I would fight for him to want something with God. But, at the end of this bumpy road, I finally found the strength to let go. Once I let him go, I grabbed onto God like never before.

I want to share something that was once shared with me. When God asks you to let something go, whether its a friendship, boyfriend/girlfriend, resentment, baggage, etc., it's for two reasons. One, that thing or person will end up hurting you in the future and even put your own salvation at risk, and second, because God  wants to give you something better.

A Blessing or The Blessing?

On my way to school, I was thinking about yesterday's post where I was talking about the mistress. I'm sure many of you have seen this happen. A new person comes to the church because of a disease, a problem with a family member, a financial problem, etc. What I have seen is that when the person comes they fight for their blessing, and once they receive it, many times, they stop coming. And all of sudden people start wondering "What happened to this person?"

Why did they stop coming? Because they came for a blessing and not the One who blesses. God does not just want to give you a blessed family, that dream job, that man or woman you have been waiting for, no, He wants to make you the blessing.

When does a person become the blessing? When they have an encounter with God. When you give Him your old life, and allow Him to give you a new one. But He will only do this, if you open up yourself to Him.

This reminds of a little quote I found in a bookstore a few months ago. God will go through anything and anyone to get to you. If there are a thousand steps between you and Him, He will take 999 steps but the last step is up to you.

God Bless

The Dirty House

43 “When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. 44 Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’ When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order.45 Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.”
                                                                                                                              Matthew 12.43-45

How many times (be honest) has your house or room looked like this? It got so messy that you got frustrated even looking at it because you didn't know where to start cleaning. I know I have. Did you know, that our body is also a house, spiritually talking? So, what makes our house dirty? Everything that displeases God and pleases the devil. These dirty things that lay inside of us can be bad thoughts, hate, pride, jealousy, lust, baggage of something you have not been able to let go, etc. All of these things represent that dirty sock left on the couch or that pile of dirty dishes in the sink, you get the point. And who likes to live in a dirty house? Dirty people, but in our case an evil spirit.

When we go to church on Fridays (day of liberation) we are asking God to clean out our dirty house, and by faith we receive that liberation. However, once we are cleaned from the inside out, we remain empty. This gives us the perfect opportunity to ask God to come inside of us.

However, many times people do not want a serious relationship with God. They only come to Him when they have a problem, when they need something, but as soon as God comes to help, we pretty much say "well, see you later!". It's kind of like when a married man goes with his mistress. He is only with her when we wants to pleased, but as soon as he is satisfied, he goes back with his wife. Imagine how terrible God must feel when we treat Him like our mistress?

God doesn't only want to clean us from all of the dirty things inside of us, He wants to also fill us. He wants to dwell inside of us, so we can finally discover true happiness, and He gives us a new shine a new life. But many times, people do not want Him. So after they are liberated, they go back to do the things that please them.

And just as the verse says, when the evil spirit leaves a person's body, it seeks a place to rest and if he doesn't find it, he goes back to his original house where he takes seven more spirits to live within the person. That is why there are so many people who seem to manifest every week. Because they open their heart to be liberated, but they close their heart so God cannot enter.

God wants to bless you and He wants you to be truly happy. Maybe you even reached a point where you don't believe it is possible to be happy. That happiness, is just a fairy tale or something you only see in movies. But God wants make you happy, not just for a moment, like the things of this world, but forever.

Take advantage of this 21 Day Fast of Daniel that is going to begin this Sunday. If you say "I'm tired of how my life has been up to this point", and you are thirsty to find God, then prepare your heart for this Sunday.

God Bless.

Gorilla in Captivity

A few days ago, I went on a trip to the zoo with my youth group family. While I was there with my some of the youth, we came across a gorilla that did not want to cooperate with the picture (as you can see here on the left). However, what really caught my attention was something that one of my special girls asked me, while we looked at this gorilla. She asked, "Claudia, wouldn't it be crazy if we were the ones in the cage and the gorilla was watching us?" When she said this, I stopped to think because I have actually seen this, but in a different way. But how? When God created the world, he created a paradise for Adam and Eve, and he gave them authority, the privilege to live a perfect life free from all worries, accusations, etc. However, what happened? Eve gave in to the voice of the devil (thanks a lot Eve!) and she made Adam and herself fall into sin. When they did this, they voluntarily placed themselves in a cage. This cage has an exhibit title called "sin".

When a person gives in to the voice of the devil, through temptations, feelings, we fall into sin. When this happens, the authority that God gave you, now comes into the hands of the devil. Now, the devil uses your authority to control you, to dominate your life. In other words, he keeps you in a cage.

That is why there are so many people that struggle to leave the alcohol or drugs. They want to stop but they feel trapped. This is why that young lady who knows that guy is not from God, stays with him, because the devil uses the authority he now has, to dominate her through her heart. So, now I ask you, what cage have you been in? If I was to walk by your exhibit, what would be the title on the sign?

You don't need to remain in this cage, remember, Jesus died for you so you could be free. When we turn to Him, He breaks off the chains from arms and feet, He breaks open the cage to take us out. God did not make you so you would suffer, so you would be a slave to that problem. He wants to set you free. How much longer do you want to remain there, while the devil just stands there watching you in a cage ?

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
