The Spider Web
A few days ago, I was talking to a young lady in the church and on my way home I was thinking about a spider web. A lot of times we clean our room, we organize it, and make sure it looks good in our eyes, etc. However, one day you notice a spider web in a dark corner in the house. How did that web get there, if your house is cleaned? Or how many times have you or someone you know woken up with a spider bite on their skin? When I was thinking about this, I realized that the devil is the same way. He is like a spider. He is always looking for a way to enter in our life and he always finds a way to crawl in. But why? Because just like the spider, he finds a tiny spot or corner where no one cleans, a dark spot where no one is paying attention. Once it finds a spot it goes and makes its web there. If the web is not found within a certain amount of time, then it mates and it multiplies throughout the house. The devil is the same way. He does not waste time. At every hour he observing us, looking for an area in our life where we are not vigilant. This area can be your emotions, your thoughts (one of the devil's favourite place to build webs), your way of seeing things, in your house, school, etc. As soon as he finds an opportunity, he takes it and if we are not in the Spirit, if we are not constantly in communion with God, then the devil enters and brings us down spiritually little by little. When we least expect it, we feel cold towards God, we feel that God is so far away, we may even feel like we are garbage or dirty before God. We stop and ask ourselves, "Why do I feel this way?, One minute I was okay, and the next I feel terrible". If you have been feeling this way examine yourself to see where you let the devil enter. Humble yourself before God, and he will lift you up.
Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent, and do the works you did at first.
