Why God?

14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

          2 Chronicles 7.14

Why do I feel this way? Why does God let this happen to me? I pray to God, so why am I still not happy? Why doesn't He answer me? All of these questions, are some of the many I would ask myself. Sometimes I would pray and He felt so far away. Many times I would be in tears wondering, why God would allow me to suffer so much. The truth is God never walks away from us, we are the ones who give our back to Him. 

It's funny how lots of people don't even think about God or want anything to do with Him, but when problems come, He is the first person we blame and the first person we question. 

The reason we suffer, the reason why everything seems to be going wrong, is because we have been living in darkness. God makes a promise in this verse. He says that if we humble ourselves, if recognize that we are wrong, that we are nothing without him and we pray to Him, talk to Him, and we look for Him and leave the things and people that do not please Him, then He will forgive us and restore our lives.

A lot of times we don't do even half of this. Sometimes we just sorry, and expect our lives to change. Sometimes people pray a lot and read their bible every day, but their life is the same. God wants us to pray, He wants us to read our bible, but what He needs from us is to repent from what are doing and not only that, but also, with our actions show that we are truly sorry for what we have done. Once we turn from these things, THEN God comes over us with His Spirit to forgive us and to transform our lives.

God sent His only son to die for us, so we would not suffer. So, why are you still suffering? What are you holding on to? What is keeping you from God?
