PREPARING THE TEMPLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must

deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.

Matthew 16.24

 

When we receive the Holy Spirit, we receive the Spirit of God inside of us. If you desire to receive the Holy Spirit, then it is important that we prepare the temple of the Holy Spirit, for His arrival. How? By removing all that is fleshly to replace it with what is spiritual. This includes our: eyes, ears, mouth, mind, heart, reactions, intentions, everything!

 

This is something that will not be easy. Because from the moment you decide you truly want to be born again and receive the Holy Spirit, you face your biggest enemy...

 

You!

 

Your fears, your doubts, insecurities, desires, everything that you have been until now, comes against you. And this battle is unavoidable. The Lord Jesus had to sacrifice himself, so he could resurrect. In the same way, those of us, who desire to follow Jesus, be born again and be one of his disciples, have to sacrifice themselves completely. In other words, we have to surrender our dreams, goals, doubts, insecurities, fears, problems, sins, etc. We surrender everything in exchange for the all of God, which is His Holy Spirit. Maybe up until now you have been seeking the Holy Spirit but have been doing the following:

 

In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted

to the point of shedding your blood.  

  Hebrews 12.4

 

You have been seeking but have you done as Jesus did? Have you sacrificed all of the blood of your flesh or do you merely have paper cuts? On May 16th we will be having the event of "Holy Spirit my Life"  and to prepare ourselves for this event, let's put to death our flesh.

Tomorrow,  we will begin to examine ourselves to see where we have still been in the flesh, so that when the day of the event comes, the temple of the Holy Spirit will be ready for Him to dwell inside of us.
